Electromagnets

This week in Reading, our story was about two boys who were working on a science fair project. They decided to make electromagnets. Their hypothesis was that more electricity would make the magnet strong, rather than more wire. So, we decided to test it in class. We had four nails with different lengths of wire wrapped around them. We decided that, with our electromagnets, more wire made the magnet stronger.

Happy Halloween

Everyone in the class is so excited for Friday. That's our Halloween party. I bet we are going to have so much fun. Speaking of Halloween, it's this week. Now every Friday we have a book club. In the book club we go into different classes. We read and talk about the books our teachers pick. In music we finished choreographing the "Grand Old Flag." It is very challenging because we don't know what we are doing. In writing we have been writing about "going green." We have made a poster on healthy habits and healthy habitats. We had to write an essay on conserving energy. Now we have to master one thing a week on Plato, and we not get on Plato at home. We get a gummy worm for every time we get a star, so now we want to do math. That's what's happening with us.Thanks.

This week in class

We meed to bring a can to school by Thursday, the 28th. We will use cheesecloth to make a mummy can. We are writing a poem about a haunted house. Today we started Social Studies, it was fun!

How fun our teacher is...

 A good thing our teacher let us do was make cells out of model clay. We had partners to do this, we did it for Science. Miss Johnson also had the kids draw Benjamin Franklin. we had to draw pictures or use words to tell about Benjamin Franklin. Our fun teacher had us make spuddy buddies for parent teacher conference. We are working on a poster about habitats. We have to have a phrase on it about what we drew, like I'm drawing a horse or monkey. That is how fun my teacher, her name is Miss Johnson

A short week

This week is very short. Monday we have computers, so today we needed to clean our computer space. Miss Johnson brought this last week it is called the Samsung Digital Presenter. It is this thing that if you put a paper under it, it shows it on the wall-- it is like the overhead. We use it instead of the overhead. This week our heritage project needs to be done. It is something that tells you about your family. We have this little book that has a picture of you and the person you interviewed. It’s where when you’re older, you can look back at something’s. It’s kind of cool. Some people are done with it. We have to be done Wednesday. On Tuesday we have music and on Wednesday we have library. I hope we have a good week.
